WHY MACS DON'T HAVE VIRUS PROBLEMS

Just listened to a guy chatting over coffee about people and their moronic beliefs. One of his tangents went along the lines; "Mac users are normally fine until they get to their asinine belief that Mac's are superior because there are not very many virii (SP) written to plague Macs and the reasons why. They mostly believe its a because Macs are more secure and their OS is much better than the PC.

He claims (and I agree because of the logic) that the only reason the Mac world has been safer is the sheer low numbers involved. With macs an insignificant number in the realms of computer land there is no incentive (instant gratification) for the virus writers to try to plague Macs because it would take years for the virus to affect even 10% of Macs whereas the release of a PC virus could affect millions in a matter of days because there are millions more PCs out in the real world.

So the myth continues because they firmly believe the OS is superior when in reality is its all about the numbers.
