Welcome to the forum
Welcome to the forum. I'm hoping we can use this forum with minimal moderating and plenty of respect and tolerance. Help out and invite someone you know

LOL, warm and fuzzy for sure.
Depending on who joins, this could be a good thing.
Now...what to talk about ?

Damn! never thought about that part I know one thing...I went on the cheap and bought a different brand of coffee the other day (trying to be thrifty) but it just goes to say "don't mess with a good thing" 'cuz this coffee tastes like motor oil.Jeckle wrote:

I can relate. To save a trip to a second store one day I bought the store brand at Shoppers. Yuck!
Won't do that again.

Hi ShellyS and welcome. The Karma feature works similar to the like button on FB or a thumbs up or down feature. Other members can give or take away Karma so be good

Re: Welcome to the forum
Good morning all,
I just registered this morning and am looking forward to joining in on discussions that interest me. I wanted to join the anonymous forum on Alberni.ca but they are not allowing new members to join. I have lived in the AV since 1988 and have seen the fortunes of our town go up and down over the years. The next 5/10 years are going to be very crucial for PA as we adapt from a resource-based environment to perhaps a mix of tourism and retirement. My hope is that by the time my daughter graduates in 5 years that she won't be forced to move away to seek her future course in life ( except for post secondary education that is). Looking forward to participating on this forum.

Welcome to the forum.
If your thoughts are correct (I think they are) and we go to retirement and tourism the only jobs to be had by our children will be service (minimum wage) or healthcare (net zero!).
I'm hoping to get my kids out soon so they can have more opportunity off "the rock"

Re: Welcome to the forum
welcome aboard Vanisle...I hope you are wrong about our valley turning into just a retirement/touristy community.....I still believe we can hold on to a bit of resource based as well...I know we been sayin it for years but value-added wood products could provide a good future in the mix of things here..hmmm perhaps another thread needs starting.
