Re: One year since the Japanese Quake
I wonder why there is a difference between men and women in the drop in life expectancy?
Approximately 6 months lost in the average life expectancy for a Japanese woman following the disasters, down from 86.4 years in 2010 to 85.9 in 2011.
Approximately 3 months lost in the average life expectancy for a Japanese man, down from 79.5 years in 2010 to 79.27 in 2011.

Re: One year since the Japanese Quake
I would imagine its the average age of those that died, averaged into the population mortality rate...or something like that.
Re: One year since the Japanese Quake
I read a report today that said as much as 20 million tonnes of debris from the tsunami that occurred in Japan last year could make it to B.C. and the latest estimates are that significant amounts of the material will arrive in 2013.
This is the full report.
